The Reva5 is a 12kW dual evaporator split air conditioning system. The evaporators are integrated in left- and right hand side boxed enclosures which are mounted next to the driver and co-driver seats inside the vehicle.

The ducting interface is custom designed to suit the vehicle specific roof/turret design, mounting brackets are designed to suit the required interfaces. Each evaporator has a high performance dual scroll blower to allow for high pressure losses in constrained air ducts. The condenser packs are mounted inside the front side fenders of the vehicle as complete modules, containing condenser heat exchanger cores and cooling fans. The 313cm³ displacement (engine driven) compressor is directly belt driven from the vehicle engine.

All SME vehicle air conditioning systems are installed with suction accumulators to protect the compressor against possible liquid slugging.
